HOUSTON – Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS), a fully integrated service provider for owners of energy infrastructure assets, announced today that it has earned the esteemed Combined Cycle Journal (CCJ) Best Practices Award in the magazine’s 2024 competition. St. Charles Energy Center, operated by CAMS, was recognized as one of the top five plants in the Best of the Best category.

CAMS has been honored with a total of 82 CCJ Best Practices Awards since 2013, solidifying its role as an industry leader in operations, maintenance, and asset management.

“The CCJ Best Practices award is a testament to CAMS’ dedication to safety, sustainability, and reliability while also maintaining exceptional operational standards,” said CEO and Founder Joseph W. Sutton. “The award represents the commitment and capability of our plant personnel and organization to consistently meet and exceed our clients’ goals.”

St. Charles Energy Center is a 745 megawatt (MW) combined-cycle power plant operating in Maryland since 2017. This energy center offsets carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to more than 795,000 cars while also providing electricity for around 700,000 homes. The plant, operated by CAMS, was nominated because of their contributions to enhancing reliability and safety through upgraded water monitoring and drone implementation.

CCJ’s annual Best Practices Awards, established in 2004, recognize the contributions made by plants and personnel to improve the safety and performance of generating facilities powered by gas turbines. Nearly 30 plants participated in the 2024 Best Practices Program, focused on highlighting plants that have succeeded in developing innovative solutions to help enhance reliability, performance improvement, and safety.
